BATS Improv COVID Prevention Policy for Students & Audience Members
BATS Improv requires all staff, coaches, performers, audiences, and students to be fully vaccinated to participate in in-person activities and to enter our venue, the Bayfront Theater at Fort Mason Center.
Students: Please email email@example.com with proof of vaccination and photo ID before the start date of your in-person class
Audience Members: Please bring proof of vaccination and photo ID to show upon entry.
Providing Proof of Vaccination
- Proof of full vaccination is required for all ticket holders, except for those legally exempted. Click here to see a full list of valid proof of Vaccinations in San Francisco
- All patrons entering the theatre will be required to show an ID with your photo and full name and proof of vaccination. A physical vaccination card, picture of your vaccination card, or digital vaccination record will suffice. California residents may obtain a digital vaccination card at MyVaccineRecord.cdph.ca.gov.
- Proof of vaccination must indicate that it has been at least 14 days since the patron’s last vaccination dose (two doses are required for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, one for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine).
- Patrons who are legally exempted from vaccines (attendees under the age of 12 or those with a medical or religious exemption) to vaccination are encouraged to postpone their visit at the current time. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org two weeks in advance if you have an exemption and would like to attend BATS Improv.
Masks must be worn by everyone, regardless of vaccination status, at all in-person classes and shows. The only exception will be for improvisers when performing on stage.
We rely on our community members to self-report symptoms and COVID exposures.
If you feel ill, please do not come to class or shows.
If you test positive for COVID-19 and it is possible that you participated in a BATS Improv class while potentially contagious, notify our office immediately via phone at: 415-474-6776 or email at: email@example.com
We will make any necessary reports to public health authorities.
Show Refund Policy: If you need to cancel attendance for a show due to COVID-19 we will be happy to give you a refund or to provide a credit towards a future show.
Class Refund Policy: Unfortunately due to the complexity and costs of classes we are unable to offer refunds with less than 96 hours notice before the class start time and date. In the event of a documented case of COVID-19, we will make an exception to transfer the student to an online class or issue a pro-rata refund for in-person sessions missed.
Risk mitigation measures:
We are currently limiting ticket sales to 30% to allow room for physical distancing during shows
We are implementing a unidirectional flow of traffic inside the theater during shows
We will not produce printed programs or tickets
Where possible windows and doors will be kept open to increase outside air flow and we have free-standing HEPA air-filters to reduce potential for airborne transmission
Class numbers are managed to enable physical distancing
Surgical masks and hand sanitizer will be available in the theatre
We are encouraging everyone to wash their hands before and after any in person activities at BATS
We are currently evaluating whether or not to sell concessions during shows. Please be prepared and bring drinking water with you in case it is not available for purchase.
